[DotA] Maelk and Co Team Mates decided for their Future

After the dust has settled from one of the biggest LAN tournament of the World, “The International” we are hit with the gravest of news. It has been announce that MYM captain Maelk and others will part ways with MYM. May you rest in peace MYM DotA.

For those of you who don’t know MYM (meet your makers) has been a huge part of the dota pro circuit. MYM has been one of the most stable teams out there. Having the 3 core members of Maelk, Mania, and Pusher since the start, many thought that this day would never come.
MYM is one of the most decorated dota teams. They are revered as dota Gods by many, they were the trendsetter. There stellar plays and split second decision making made many boring games into epic matches. But alas with this one of the dota chapters has finally come to an end.

Statement from Maelk, captain of MYM: 

-"We have reached the end of an era, and everyone agreed that in order for us to prepare for the future and meet each our individual dreams and goals we needed to start from a clean slate. For many of us, MYM has been as much a part of our identity in DotA as our own nickname has, but we are confident that moving on is for the best. The players will finish the year off by doing different things. Some will continue playing competitively while others are taking a break from the pro circuit. Some has obligations outside of the game that they cannot ignore while others wants to focus fullheartedly on DotA for the rest of the year.

Indeed an era has ended an era that it will not be easily forgotten. Many of us grew watching them play. It just seems so surreal for this to be happening. Life goes on and like dota it is preparing for its next chapter DOTA2. It may seem bleak but all we can really do is look to the future and hope for the best.

Maelk: Once the new year starts and DotA2 launches, we will most likely meet up and join forces once again!"

There is still hope that they will do what they always do, they will rise again. So we go hearing what Maelk was always chanting “MYM fighting”. Let us continue fighting because as one chapter closes a new one begins.
